HAYWARD, Wis. -

As anglers are ready to reel in the big one this fall, the city of Hayward is ready to net all the tourism dollars they bring with them.

Cooler water temperatures and less boat traffic on area lakes make fall one of the best times to fish in Hayward.

World record muskies have been caught in lakes around town and the community might want to see that record try and be broken.

"Fishing is in our blood here in Hayward. We're home to some world record muskies for one, so it's definitely an angler's paradise," said Chris Ruckdaschel, executive director of the Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce.

Hayward is also home to the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum.

They also expect many visitors this weekend for the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival.
