DULUTH, Minn. -

Hartley Nature Center in Duluth was hit hard by last month's storm.

In fact, Hartley still remains closed more than a month later because the damage was so extensive.

Programs there have been cancelled and trails have been shut down ever since last month's storm blew through taking out nearly 1,000 trees.

Hartley employees decided to close the trails because the storm left them unsafe for people to use.

The past several weeks have been spent cleaning up all the damage but Hartley management still is unsure when the center will re–open to the public.

Tom O-rourke, the Executive Director of Hartley Nature Center, said "The park wont ever be back to exactly how it was but that's part of nature, change is inevitable. We are just trying to get the park back open so people can continue activities."

Volunteers have been donating their time and money to repair the trail systems, and clear the storm debris.

You can go into the center and donate money to help them rebuild.
