On September 9, 2016 around midnight, officers from the Cloquet Police Department and paramedics from the Cloquet Area Fire District responded to the McDonald's parking lot for a possible heroin overdose.
Paramedics administered three doses of Narcan, reviving a 20-year-old female. She was transported by ambulance to a Duluth hospital. Through the investigation, Cloquet officers learned were the heroin came from.
Early on September 11, 2016, Cloquet officers with the assistance of officers from the Fond du Lac Police Department, Carlton County Sheriff's Department and the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in Cloquet.
Officers located over 23 grams of Heroin, a pistol, a short barreled shot gun, prescription drugs, and other drug-related paraphernalia. Officers also confiscated $2,800 in cash.
Austin Webster, 24, of Cloquet was arrested at the residence and was charged Tuesday in Carlton County Court with 1st Degree Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Short-Barreled Shotgun, Possession of a Legend Drug & Illegal Possession of Hypodermic Syringe/Needle.
Bail was set for $100,000 for Webster. His next court appearance is set for September 19.
Webster was out on bail for two previous felony 5th degree drug possession charges and has a felony 5th degree drug possession conviction from 2015.
The investigation is on-going at this time and additional charges are possible.
