DULUTH, Minn. -

Nearly five years ago, Patrick Plys died after a battle with brain cancer.

Patrick always helped the community and Project Joy continues his mission.

The organization raises money for the Northern Lights Second Harvest Backpack Program.

The backpack program provides kids with meals for the weekends when they're not at school.

"It's a cause I totally believe in. I don't think that any child should not have the ability to eat Friday at school to Monday morning and unfortunately it's all too common," said Project Joy coordinator Plys.

It takes only three dollars to feed a child for the weekend. If you couldn't attend the fundraiser, donations can be made to Second Harvest in care of Project Joy.
