Lyric opera of the north kicked off their new season today at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth.

The new season opens with the chamber opera, blue viola, which is based on the true story of a priceless instrument being lost in Chicago.

The show is staged in a way that allows the audience to be up close and personal with the performance.

"Folks are sitting ten feet away from the performance here, so you really get to see the facial expressions of the singers and you also get to see what the orchestra actually does," say's music Director Dirk Meyer

You can still catch two performances of blue viola October 3rd -4th at 7:30 p.m. at Clyde Iron Works.
