GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. -

One day after authorities issued a missing person alert for Lindsday Marie Voltz, her body was discovered.

Voltz, 37, was last seen on Sunday, Oct. 2 in the City of Grand Rapids.

Authorities tell FOX 21 at 8:08 p.m. on Oct. 2 the Grand Rapids Police Department received a report that a vehicle was found parked on the 7th Avenue bridge over the Mississippi River.

A Grand Rapids Police Officer arrived at the location within two minutes of the time of report.

The officer found car keys and a purse belonging to a Grand Rapids woman in the vehicle.

Officers and sheriff’s deputies began a search of the area for the woman who was presumed to be the driver of the vehicle.

Itasca County Sheriff Search and Rescue Unit were immediately summoned to the scene.

Her body was recovered during the early afternoon hours of Wednesday, Oct. 5 about five blocks downstream from the bridge.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department and the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office.

Foul play is not suspected.

On Wednesday the following statement was issued on Facebook by the Itasca County Sheriff's Office:

"The Itasca County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating Lindsay. Her body was recovered early this afternoon. Family has been notified, no further details, investigation continues. Thoughts go out to the Voltz family."
