March planned for missing teen; donation fund established for mother
SUPERIOR - Family members are planning a march for Sylvester "Sly" McCurry, Jr., the 18-year-old Duluth East High School student who disappeared last month in Superior.
Sunday's march will mark the four-week anniversary of McCurry's disapperance. He was last seen walking away from Stargate Night Club in Superior. Police, family, and friends have conducted searches, but found nothing.
The march will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday in front of Stargate, 619 Tower Ave. Organizers encouraged marchers to bring candles and posters to remind people that "Sly" is still missing.
Meanwhile, a fund has been set up to help McCurry's mother stay in Duluth to continue searching for her son. Tammy Jo Carter has taken a leave of absence from her job in the Twin Cities.
Donations to the Tammy Jo Carter Donation Fund can be made at any U.S. Bank location.
