Meeting set to discuss Highway 53 project in NW Wisconsin

SUPERIOR - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is planning a public information meeting to discuss plans for resurfacing U.S. Highway 53 from Trego to Solon Springs.

The meeting is to be held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Washburn County Highway Department office, 1600 County Highway H in Spooner.

The project involves resurfacing the northbound lanes of Highway 53 from River Road, north of Trego, to the south side of Minong; and from the north side of Minong to County Highway T near Solon Springs.

Roadside signs and guardrails also will be replaced.

The open-house meeting will include maps showing the proposed improvements.
