New campaign finance reports show Obey, a Wausau Democrat, had $1.1 million in the bank as of Dec. 31. Ashland County District Attorney Sean Duffy had $220,000. Rudolph farmer Dan Mielke had $2,700.

Obey, who has served in Congress since 1969, raised nearly $300,000 during the last quarter of 2009. Duffy raised $146,600 while Mielke generated $25,185.

Duffy and Mielke are headed for a Republican primary on Sept. 14. The general election is set for Nov. 2.
