DULUTH - A three year battle between the controversial preachers at Bentleyville and the city of Duluth is coming to an end.
A proposed settlement has gone through months of mediation with the city of Duluth and the preachers, Steve Jankowski and Peter Scott.
The settlement states that starting this year at Bentleyville, there will be designated free speech areas for the preachers to practice their First Amendment rights.
The areas are located outside the main attraction and are designed not to disturb any families attending Bentleyville.
"We're just looking move past it, just looking forward to putting it behind us and focusing on a great community event that draws hundreds of thousands of people to the city of Duluth and the surrounding area," Bentleyville owner Nathan Bentley expressed.
The city council will vote on the proposed settlement Monday at the city council meeting.
