STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The debate on rules for Wisconsin's new wolf hunt has begun at a packed Natural Resources Board meeting. The Department of Natural Resources wants to set the harvest limit at 201 wolves across six management zones. Environmental advocates say the kill quota is too high. Others maintain it's too low. The Natural Resources Board is expected to vote on the rules later Tuesday. Nearly 100 people have jammed the board's meeting at a Stevens Point hotel. Forty-three people have registered to speak.Gov. Scott Walker signed a bill earlier this year that calls for a wolf hunt from Oct. 15 through the end of February. The measure left the total harvest and permit limits to the DNR, however.
