DULUTH - Every little bit counts, and the Cloquet community came together to help raise money, for children in need.
Walmart partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network to raise money for Gilette Children’s Hopsital.
A partnership that has been going strong since 1963, and nearly 100 people came to support the cause, and to enjoy the food, games and prizes.
“We’re here for the love of the dance. Anything that brings a lively spirit and an openness and a new breath of life, is always something to celebrate,” Debra Livengood, an alternative belly dancer, said.
“I’ve spent some time down at the Gillete Children’s Hospital, and just seeing what we can do for children and the amount of medical costs and see them grow and live better and be able to live healthy lives is really important,” Beth Iallonardo, of Walmart Cloquet, said.
Saturday’s goal was to raise $1,000, and in 2012, Walmarts and Sam’s Clubs in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin raised more than $500,000 for the cause.
