GRAND RAPIDS - A Detroit Lakes man has been sentenced for burglarizing a home in Grand Rapids.
Twenty-five year old Steven Carpentier was sentenced to more than four years in prison and to pay $500 in restitution.
He was sentenced on a count of first degree burglary for stealing a gun from the home.
The incident happened in April on the 600 block of Pokegama Avenue.
When police got there they say Carpentier fled to a nearby home and that's when they set up the perimeter and called in a crisis negotiator to get him to come out.
