MADISON - State Representative Nick Milroy (D-South Range) was proud to join representatives of two area elementary schools today as they received Wisconsin School of Recognition honors at the State Capitol.Northern Lights Elementary and Lake Superior Elementary were among schools throughout Wisconsin that were recognized today by the State Department of Public Instruction.In addition to a plaque, each school received $500 for use on any school-related activity. All award-winning schools receive federal Title I funding to serve economically disadvantaged children."The dedication and quality of our teachers and staff is not recognized often enough," said Milroy. "This award and financial contribution is the least we can do to show our appreciation to those teachers and staff that educate and inspire our children. It's reassuring to know we have highly qualified teachers in the district that will ensure a bright future for our children."Representing Northern Lights Elementary were Assistant Principal Mary Anderson-Petroske and Erika Suo; Representing Lake Superior Elementary were Lindsay Braman and Sherry Amys.
