8th Grader Anderson Commits to UMD Men's Hockey

Duluth (KQDS Fox 21) The UMD Men's hockey team got a commitment today from 8th Grade Hill Murray Forward Joey Anderson.

Anderson is considered one of the top 1998 birth year players in the nation.

LeBlanc Throws Out First Pitch at Target Field

MINNEAPOLIS - After a succesful hockey season, Drew LeBlanc took his turn on the baseball diamond at Target Field.
LeBlanc was honored by the Minnesota Twins Wednesday for winning the Hobey Baker Award, and leading St. Cloud State to the Frozen Four.

O'Brien Leaves Badgers Football Team

MADISON, Wis. (AP) University of Wisconsin senior quarterback Danny O'Brien has left the Badgers' football program.
The State Journal says O'Brien confirmed his departure. O'Brien was home in Kernersville, N.C., when the Badgers started their seven-week summer workout program Monday.

LeBlanc to Throw First Pitch at Twins game Wednesday

MINNEAPOLIS (KQDS FOX 21 SPORTS) Hermantown native and Hobey Baker Award winner Drew LeBlanc will get his shot a ceremonial first pitch this week but likely won't be asked to throw batting practice.

Drew's first pitch will come before Wednesday's Minnesota Twins game at target field.

Dominic Toninato Invited to USA Hockey Evaluation Camp

DULUTH - Incoming UMD freshman Dominic Toninato impressed for the USHL's Fargo Force last season.  That's led the Duluth native into some impressive company.
Toninato was one of 40 players invited by USA Hockey to an evaluation camp August 3-10 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Scott Sandelin wins Award from UND

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Bulldogs coach Scott Sandelin will be honored by his alma mater, the University of North Dakota, with the Tom Clifford Award.
The Clifford is presented to a North Dakota alumni that's excelled as either a high school or college coach.

Bellamy Gets Coaching Job at Harvard

DULUTH - Duluth native Laura Bellamy has been named an Assistant Women's Hockey Coach at Harvard.
The Denfeld product played Goalie for the Crimson from 2009-2013 and compiled a record of 60-25-7.

UMD's Black Earns Canada Invite

June 3, 2013

DULUTH - UMD Women's Hockey player Kayla Black has been invited to Team Canada's Goaltending camp June 6-9.
The Blythe, Ontario native is one of 14 goalies invited to the camp.
Black earned 3rd Team All-WCHA honors as a freshman, as well as a spot on the league's All–Rookie team.

UMD's Wojciechowski Named All-American
