DULUTH, Minn. -

Visitors to the University of Minnesota Duluth campus after 3:00 p.m. Monday saw a unique site on the flagpoles.  The "Number 1" flag is flying after the Bulldogs topped the Division II volleyball coaches poll.

UMD survived a pair of five–set classics over the weekend, as the Bulldogs downed then–top ranked Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State; all in less than 24 hours.
Jim Boos' team is now 15–0, but coach says let's not get ahead of ourseleves, because being No. 1 in October guarantees nothing.

"It means we've beaten some good teams along the way and it means we're maybe a little ahead of schedule from where we thought we might be given the inexperience and some of the seniors we graduated," said Boos.  "Ultimately, we know internally that this team still has a lot of work to do, some things to figure out, and have to work on our consistency."

This week, the Bulldogs travel to the University of Mary and Minot State.
