CLOQUET, MN– Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College announced today the hiring of two new members of the Thunder Athletics Department. Keith Turner will fill a newly created position of Athletic Director/Head Football Coach/Director of Student Preparedness, and Laura Sylvester has been named the Head Coach of the Thunder Volleyball program. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) _ University of Minnesota athletes are keeping up in class better than before. The Gophers announced Thursday their highest aggregate Academic Progress Rate score, 979.9, in six years of measurement by the NCAA. Twenty-one of Minnesota's 25 teams recorded scores during the 2008-09 school year above 965, which the NCAA considers "high performing." » read more
