SUPERIOR - It was a close call for boaters stranded at Wisconsin Point.
Police and firefighters were called out to a small boat about 200 feet from shore Tuesday afternoon.
Gusty winds up to 35 miles per hour formed large waves, creating a dangerous situation.
The fire department used a rescue boat to hook up to them and get them back into shore.
The boat was eventually brought to shore safely with the help of the Coast Guard, Douglas County Sheriff's Department, and the Superior Fire Department.
