GORDON, Wis. - Fire officials and community members in the city of Gordon are regaining their peace of mind after a devastating fire back in September that burned down their only fire hall.
It was a unanimous vote Tuesdaynight to begin the rebuilding process of the Gordon Fire Hall.
The board held a special public meeting for the community to make the vote of approval to start making the first steps.
In the meantime, the Gordon Volunteer Fire Department can respond to any and all medical calls, but if anything larger happens, like a structure or car fire, they would have to call in for assistance from another town.
This, of course, creates a longer response time.
The board is now talking with construction companies on how soon they can get started building.
However, with the upcoming winter, construction may have to wait until spring and make the entire process about a year.
