DULUTH - A student organization at UMD is behind a push to get more students registered to vote.
The student chapter of the Minnesota Public Research Group celebrated National Voter's Registration Day Tuesday.
It's an effort to get as many people involved in voting as possible.
The voter turnout rate among UMD students in the last city council election was only in the single digits percentage–wise.
This is something organizers hope to change.
Campus organizers say the first step to making that happen is to get students involved in races besides just presidential elections.
