That low pressure that affected the northern Midwest for the better part of a week has now moved eastward toward the Ohio River Valley. In its wake, some lingering cloud cover remains, but better weather is on the way this week. Today, expect mostly cloudy skies and a steady wind out of the north-northeast. Lows this morning range from the 40s to low 50s, and highs today will top out in the mid and upper 50s. Fans of sunshine might have to be patient until later this afternoon, or even until tomorrow. Cloud cover remains a concern for us even overnight tonight.
Expect sunshine to end our week. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, all look very nice with highs well in the 60s. Even with the chance that pesky low pressure might try to knock on our door from the east, the high pressure that's ushering in the improvements to our weather should keep it at bay. I'm keeping sunshine in the forecast through Saturday and Sunday, all with highs in the low and mid 60s.
The next chance for significant rainfall comes in on Tuesday. A new system should be poised to bring thunderstorms back to the Northland by Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
