LAKE NEBAGAMON, Wisc.  – What better way to learn whether or not you enjoy a sport, than by giving it a try when it’s free of charge.

For the third year in a row Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources hosted a free weekend of fishing.

The opportunity allowed people to fish without purchasing a license.

Although Chris Grover and his son, Haas, had already bought their fishing licenses ahead of time, they said the free event is a great opportunity for everyone to get outdoors.

“Get people out that have never done it before. Help them save a little money, possibly new equipment and possibly come back year after year for it,” explained Haas Grover.
