Business Owners Discuss Legislative Goals

FORVM Focuses on Tax Competitiveness

This morning, local business owners met to discuss their plan for the legislative session.

With the session underway, the President of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce says they will be focusing on lobbying for tax competitiveness.

They want to provide tax relief to Minnesota companies that are pass-through entities.

He added there are a few factors going into the session, though, like the divided government.

“Nobody should assume that just because the Governor is a democrat and the senate is controlled by democrats that they will be in lock step on every issue. I think it’s going to be a game time decision,” said Bill Blazar, Interim President of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber of Commerce will be lobbying in St. Paul during Duluth Days, February 25th and 26th.
