An exhibit opened up this weekend showcasing the Beargrease from a more artistic point of view.
The Great Lakes Aquarium hosted an open house for its 5th annual art show.
Thirty-eight pieces are filling the gallery walls of past mushers and their dogs.
The images were captured by 19 photographers.
“We’re trying to tell the story of the Beargrease, of John himself and what he did for the community,” photographer Kyle Crohn said. “Bringing the mail and communication to people up on the North Shore in the winter.”
The exhibit will be open until mid-March.
