Warm Weather Melts Sculpture

Sorry, this video is no longer available

Friday’s warm temperatures are thawing the sculpture on Barker’s Island.

Roger Hanson, known as Iceman Roger, the creator of the massive ice sculpture told FOX21 he needs temperatures to dip below freezing at night to maintain the core of the structure.

He said the warm weather is detrimental – the only thing worse, would be rain.

If you’re interested in learning more about how Hanson created the piece of art he will be offering public presentations.

The free events will be held every Saturday at 2 p.m.

His last talk will be on February 28th, with a light show and fire works later that evening.
