Superior Man Arrested for Hit & Run

A 33-year-old Superior man is in custody for Attempted 2nd Degree Intentional Homicide after running over a 24-year-old Superior woman in the alley behind 1218 Tower Avenue.

On Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 2:34 A.M., Superior Police Department officers were dispatched to the alley behind 1218 Tower Ave on a report of a hit and run involving injuries.

When officers arrived they were told that a car had run over a 24-year-old Superior woman.

The woman complained of pain and injuries to her legs.

Gold Cross Ambulance and Superior Fire Department personnel responded.

The woman was taken to an Essentia Health Hospital in Duluth.

Witnesses gave a description of the car and driver that committed the hit and run.

Superior Police Officers located the car and driver about 4 blocks away.

The driver attempted to run from officers and resist arrest.

Officers deployed Tasers and the suspect was taken in custody.

The suspect was arrested for Attempted 2nd Degree Intentional Homicide, Hit & Run Causing Injury and Operating After Revocation.

He is being held in the Douglas County Jail on those pending charges and a hold by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Division of Community Corrections.

The suspect is expected to be charged Tuesday afternoon.
