The men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep Duluth safe were honored Wednesday afternoon.

Hundreds gathered at Duluth Police Department’s annual recognition ceremony.

More than 20 officers were credited for their accomplishments this past year including promotions and education achievements.

Three officers received Life Saving Ribbons for their quick thinking in life and death situations.

Duluth Police Department’s Chief Gordon Ramsay said often time negativity overshadows the positive things police officers do every day.

“It seems that a lot of police issues on the news lately have been negative. This highlights the good things that happen every minute of every day,” said Chief Ramsay.
