The official Beargrease may be over, but it was still in full-swing at the Chris Jensen Rehabilitation Center.

More than 10 dogs visited residents Thursday afternoon, to compete in the cutest dog contest.

The contest is part of the center’s third annual Beargrease celebration.

Throughout the week, residents followed the race and learned the history of the Northland event.

The center’s activity director, Brenda Glonek, said it’s a great way for residents to stay connected to their community.

“It’s a memory type thing they remember having their own pets, they’re warm and soft,” said Glonek.

The winner of the cutest dog contest was Gia, a three-legged pooch.
