Iron River Man Dies in Rollover Crash

A 54-year-old man from Iron River died after his vehicle rolled in Bayfield County Friday.

First responders were called to the scene around 5:15 p.m. on Blue Moon Road in the Town of Cable.

The man’s vehicle was going north when it went off the road, into the ditch and rolled over.

The driver was not wearing his seat belt and was partly ejected, according to authorities.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s wife and 2-year-old grandson were also in the vehicle and were life flighted to a Duluth hospital.

Their conditions are unknown.

The child was in a car seat, but authorities do not know if the passenger was wearing a seat belt.

Authorities will release the driver’s name Saturday.
