A Northland tournament aimed at getting people out on the ice celebrated a milestone Saturday.

The 50th annual Fisherama Ice Fishing Contest kicked off on Amnicon Lake.

About 150 people joined in on the fun catching northern pike and crappies in an attempt to reel in the biggest catch.

“It’s northern Wisconsin and people enjoy ice fishing,” Tri Lakes Community Center President Jeff Kantarik said. “It’s fun to get out, get together with your friends. Snowmobile, fish, it’s a good get together.”

Winners took home $50, $75 and $100 dollar prizes.
