The wind, snow and sleet did not stop people from coming out to help a local food bank.

The donations kept coming in for Union Gospel Mission which has run out of food several times this winter.

To help them out, Lakeveiw Convenent Churches entire congregation went to Super One grocery stores after Sunday services to buy the nonprofit nonperishable food items to stock their shelves with.

“It’s meeting our expectations, but we’re Christians and we believe that sometimes our expectations are more than we believe,” Lakeveiw Convenent Church member Craig Gilbertson said. “So things really kind of turn out and come out sometimes more than you expect.”

Donations can be dropped off at Union Gospel Mission on weekdays.
