Eveleth Man Charged With Murder

Accused of Giving Drug to Woman Who Overdosed

An Eveleth man is facing a murder charge in the death of a 21-year-old Duluth woman.

Bryan Hodapp, 27, was charged with third degree murder and second degree manslaughter.

The charges stem from the 2013 death of Krystal Wicklund.

Authorities say Hodapp gave her a psychedelic drug known as 25I-NBOMe.

Wicklund starting vomiting and suffering from convulsions shortly after taking the drug, according to the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office.

She later died at the Ely-Bloomenson Hospital.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner determined Wicklund died from an overdose of 25I-NBOMe.

Hodapp’s bail is set at $200,000.

His next court appearance is set for March 2 in Virginia.
