People in Superior are packing their bags for Madison in hopes of passing a small tax increase that’ll help fix northern Wisconsin roads.

Next week starts the 30th annual Superior Days at the state capitol.

It’s the first and the largest citizen lobbying effort in Wisconsin.

This year, many Superior advocates are working to pass a half-percent sales tax increase that would eventually raise $5 million a year to help fund area roads.

“This is a tax where everybody who uses the roads that comes into our communities is helping to pay for the maintenance of these roads,” explained Representative Nick Milroy.

Superior Days runs Feb. 24 and 25.
