Superior Man Shot in the Head in Florida Over Stolen Marijuana

Superior Man in Critical Condition After Fight Over Marijuana in Florida

A 27-year old man remains in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head, broken neck, and broken bones following a violent incident, that two suspects say, was prompted over stolen marijuana.

Patrick Nelson, of Superior, Wisconsin, was staying at the River Club Condominiums on Hutchinson Island while he visited the area.

A witness told detectives they saw Nelson enter a mobile home at 385 N. Sailfish, (Holiday Out Mobile Home Park) Tuesday night.

The home’s occupants were not there at the time.

Nelson spent a short time inside the home, then left before the owner returned.

When the resident, 25-year old Ryan Lounders (left photo) returned to his mobile home, he told detectives he noticed approximately $1,000 in marijuana missing.

Lounders and his roommate, 27-year old Donald Smith, (right photo) then drove to the River Club condos where they entered Nelson’s home with a handgun and confronted him about the stolen marijuana.

After a struggle, Nelson was shot in the head, and Lounders and Smith fled.

Martin County Sheriff’s Detective were able to track the events leading to the shooting, and arrested both Lounders and Smith.

They are being charged with attempted felony murder, burglary, and battery, and are currently being processed at the Martin Jail without bond.
