Next week, Duluth city officials will head down to St. Paul for the 18th Annual Duluth Days.

This year is not a bonding year, so the city’s plan is to set budgets for the reconstruction of Superior Street.

Development will go beyond resurfacing the road and include work underground.

“The hope would be to convert to a natural gas system or a bio mass system, replace high–pressure steam lines that are old and leaking in many cases, with a much more efficient and environmentally-friendly water system,” said Rogen Wedin, director of policy at the Duluth Chamber of Commerce.

The trip to St. Paul will take place next Wednesday and Thursday.
