Police pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop on Mahnomen Road Thursday.

When questioned, officers said the passenger gave a false name and date of birth.

He was then taken to Border Patrol to help with identification, but identified himself on the way there.

Authorities then transported him to the St. Louis County Jail where he’s being held for giving false information to police.

After a search of the suspect, police found 4.3 ounces of heroin on him along with $2,590 in cash.

The street value of the heroin is approximately $60,000, according to police.
