Fish Fry Frenzy

It’s that time of the year again, fish fry frenzy.

Lent officially began on Wednesday, and for many the next few Fridays will be filled with eating fish.

Eddies in Superior, they’re known for their world famous ribs but that’s not all, especially in the depths of winter.

“We do fish fry all year long, but during Lent we have fish fry, very busy on Friday nights,” said Dina Conner, owner of Eddies.

The long-time restaurant uses a recipe that dates back to 60-some years, but that’s not all that may set them apart.

“Kind of a traditional Wisconsin fish fry,” said Conner.

“We do a hand–breaded cod. (We also have) a baked potato, french fries, coleslaw, and rolls”.

The plates are piled high with fish.

“We’ve even been written up in a Wisconsin fish fry book a couple of years ago,” said Conner.

Eddie’s is just one of many options in the Twin Ports to get your fish fix.

A fun fact – is that Wisconsin’s Friday night fish fry is long standing, as it began in the 1800’s.
