Cardboard Box Races

Consider the lowly cardboard box. It typically starts life as a merchandise container before being relegated to the basement for the rest of its days, but not always.

Kids spent the great majority of their day trying to fly down the hill in whimsical cardboard box sleds for Northwood Children’s Services art sled rally.

It’s the third year the popular event has taken place.

It’s just kind of a fun event. We get all the kids from Northland and people from the community. The idea is to be creative; most of the sleds don’t even make it down the hill. Most fall apart before they get there, but it’s fun, something to do on cold winter afternoon,” said Richard Wolleat, with Northwood Children’s Services.

All proceeds from the race will help fund programs at Northwood’s.
