A nonprofit honors locals who helped families down on their luck last Christmas.

With dinner, awards and gifts an appreciation celebration kicked off at Clyde Iron Works.

Leaders and volunteers with the Best Christmas Ever movement paid tribute to community members and businesses who helped families who fell on hard times this holiday season.

“We want to do an event and we just wanted to give thanks because of them it’s possible,” Best Christmas Ever Creator and Board Member Don Liimatainen said. “All the people that came together to do this and this is just our way of giving back and saying thank you to them.”

This year the nonprofit is aiming to make sure 20 families throughout Minnesota have the best Christmas ever.
