Las Vegas has been a destination from Duluth for 9 years.

But, for the first time flights from Duluth will be suspended.

Recent trends show people aren’t taking Allegiant Airlines as often.

You’ll recall, it’s Duluth-Phoenix services ended in July and in September the Duluth to Orlando service was pulled.

Airport officials say it’s not uncommon to be low during the October, November and December months.

“We’ve actually put dollars into trying to retain this service.  It means a lot to us and we are very disappointed.  We are very disappointed to see it go,” said DLH’s  Marketing Director, Natalie Peterson.

Because of the decrease in passengers, we’re told the airline is slowly shifting toward larger markets.

“They pull from others that maybe aren’t as profitable and they are a very profit driven airline and so they are having to take those flights from somewhere and unfortunately you see this happening all over the country,” said Peterson.

Las Vegas services will be suspended August 17th.

No date has been set for the routes return.
