Hibbing Student Arrested Following BB Gun Incident

A 15-year-old boy has been suspended from Hibbing High School after police said he waved a BB gun at a 14-year-old boy near school property.

It happened Monday around 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of East Howard St.

The incident was reported to police Tuesday by another student and the 15-year-old was taken into custody.

During the investigation, police learned the BB gun had a CO2 propellant and no threats were ever made on school property.

The school district is considering expelling the student.

The boy was released to his parent.

Charges will be determined after review by the St. Louis County District Attorney’s Office.
