It’s not only the Outdoor Sports show that will have Canal Park bustling this weekend.

Thousands will be jumping into Lake Superior on Saturday afternoon for the Duluth Polar Bear Plunge.

On Friday, businesses were busy preparing for the influx of people who will be packing into local bars and restaurants, in the hopes that those from out of town will see a different side of the city.

“We love weekends like this, where we can show that Duluth isn’t just a summer town, but we have things going on year–round,” said Matt Baumgartner, general manager of Grandma’s Sports Garden.

To add to the mania, four local high school hockey playoff games will be played at Amsoil Arena on Saturday.
