Freezing Temps Prevent Cars from Starting

Cold Causes Problems for Cars

It was a busy day for tow truck drivers and automotive repair shops.

Some Northladers had to either get their cars jumped or towed after they would not start because of the subzero temperatures.

Staff with Stadium Towing recommend keeping up the maintenance on your car during inclement weather.

“Every few years you really should replace your battery,” Stadium Towing Owner Mark Androsky said. “These winters are awfully hard starting these sitting cars.”

Androksky also advises not repeatedly trying to start your car which could cause internal damage.

Some towing companies were backed up for up to four hours.

If you are traveling it’s advised keeping warm winter gear in your car because you could have to wait for a long time before help arrives.
