Civil War Event at Duluth Public Library

Locals came out to the Duluth Public Library to see historical reenactor Arn Kind talk about the Civil War.

With role playing, drama and artifacts Kind educated the audience about Minnesota’s involvement in the Civil War, what events led to the battle and soldier’s experiences.

“I just think it’s a fun way to learn about some of the things, some of the ways that Minnesota was involved in the Civil War that you might not read about in some books and you might not have learned about in school,” Duluth Public Library Youth Services Librarian Kristy Proctor said. “So it’s a good way to expand that knowledge and really get a hands on approach.”

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War.
