Ice X for Kids Kicks Off

Ice Cross Youth Event

Nearly 100 kids from all over the Northland took part in a new event involving ice, snow and lots of fun.

Ice X for kids kicked off at at Mont Du Lac Recreation.

Team USA along with Red Bull Crashed Ice professionals taught attendees five and up ice cross techniques and different skills while going down a big and very steep hill.

“First time was really scary, just getting used to it,” Elk River hockey player Brooke Burns said. “We’ve gotten the hang of it and getting stuff.”

“Yea and now it’s so fun and it’s a beautiful day, it’s a perfect day,” Elk River hockey player Jessie Dexheimer said.

Event coordinators say they plan on having the event again in the near future.
