The Duluth East Daredevils along with 122 other teams are competing in the third annual Double DECCer Regional robotics competition.

For a chance to go to the world championship their robots must earn the most points stacking square totes, recycling bins and green pool noodles.

“This year is a little bit different because it’s a non–defensive game,” said Morgan Pirsig with the Duluth East Daredevils. “So the two alliances stay on their sides of the field and try and stack totes and containers instead of going at each other like you would in an defensive game.”

The competition will continue Saturday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.
