Lake Superior Swallows ‘The Cribs’

It looks like Uncle Harvey’s Mausoleum (a.k.a ‘The Cribs’) won’t make for a very good jumping off spot for swimmers this summer
Lake Superior is slowly taking the historic piece under water.
The structure was built in 1919 as a gravel hopper that took in dirt and gravel from the Apostle Islands to fill in the corner of the lake for the planned Lakeshore Park.
It was abandoned in the early 1920s.
