Duluth Depot Welcomes New Program Director

Duluth Depot Creates New Position four 4 Museums

The St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center, also known as The Depot, has welcomed a new position to facility.

Briana Johnson has joined the Depot as the new Program Director, and Thursday the Depot is having a reception to welcome her to the staff.

You might remember Briana as the marketing director of Spirit Mountain where she worked for many years.

The Depot is home to 4 museums, all included in one ticket.

That’s the St. Louis County Historical Society, Veterans Hall, Duluth Art Institute and the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. The building is also home to 5 performing arts organizations, like the Minnesota Ballet and the Duluth Playhouse.

The new Program Director position was funded through the Depot Foundation with hopes that the position will bridge all of these organizations and focus on increasing traffic and visibility to the building.

Briana explains, “To be in a position like this, as a catalyst for partnership and synergy among so many great non-profit organizations, is an incredible opportunity. I am eagerly looking forward to maximizing collaborative programming and events for the organizations in this building, and continuing to generate excitement and energy as we position The Depot as THE place to celebrate the art, history, and culture of our area.”

The event on Thursday (March 12) is from 4:30 – 6pm in the Depot’s Great Hall and is meant to be an opportunity for representatives of organizations at the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center to meet Briana and share ideas and generate momentum.
