Leif Erickson Viking Ship Finds New Home
The corner of London Road and Superior Street is about to be home to a historic 42 foot Viking ship.
It used to be down in Leif Erickson Park but the city has decided to restore it, and put it on display inside four glass walls.
Supporters of the project say it’ll be the perfect entry into the Leif Erickson Park.
“The park was named after the ship,” said chair of the project, Neill Atkins. “It used to be in the park and it was kind of out of sight out of mind and now it’s front and center.”
Construction is expected to start this spring, and should wrap up late fall.
