Duluth Business Advances to "Sweet Sixteen"

Tycoon’s Alehouse is in the running to being named America’s best historic bar.

It’s the 1st nationwide competition launched be Preservation Nation (by the National Trust for Historic Preservation) to determine America’s favorite historic watering hole. 

The tournament tapped 32 bars to compete against each other.

Tycoon’s recently advance to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA tournament style contest. 

Although the competition is stiff, Tycoon’s say it’s deserving of the title because of the buildings history. 

“For this building to be once the hub of all that activity as the original City Hall in Duluth, I think it’s just a historic building.  We are really proud of the work we have put in to make it a historic bar,” said Tycoon’s Marketing Director, Brad Nelson. 

Voting for each round will last one week and close every Friday morning at 8:00 a.m.

One bar will claim the title on April 3rd.
